Pro bono is not a slogan at Mei & Mark LLP. We believe it is our duty and obligation to contribute back to the community. Our attorneys come from disadvantaged backgrounds and understand the importance of pro bono and community service for people who otherwise cannot afford legal services. We administer our pro bono program, not to improve or polish our legal skills, but to do the right thing!
Patent
We provide pro bono services to qualified individuals/businesses in connection with patent issues.
Immigration and Asylum
Our attorneys have represented immigrants and asylum seekers pro bono since 1974. We continue to work with non-profit and public interest groups in Washington, DC and South Florida to represent qualified individuals.
HIV/AIDS Advocacy
Our attorneys have worked with non-profit HIV/AIDS advocacy groups since 1998. We have represented qualified individuals in the areas including social security disability benefits, wills, living wills, healthcare directives, and immigration.
Consumer Rights
We provide cost-free services in qualified consumer rights cases, where consumers have not been able to retain other attorneys on contingency-fee basis because of high legal costs and likelihood of small damage awards. We will evaluate such cases and if public interest so demands, we may take on the cases on contingency-fee basis.
