Kevin Mun, Ph.D., a registered patent attorney and former Patent Examiner, has joined Mei & Mark LLP. Dr. Mun practices all aspects of Intellectual Property Law, with a primary focus on patent litigation, patent prosecution, and strategic client counseling. Dr. Mun’s technical experience spans a variety of technical fields, including LCD and OLED displays, LEDs, integrated circuits, semiconductors, telecommunications, automotive, nuclear, internet, and medical devices
Dr. Mun has litigated numerous patent cases before the federal district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission involving various technology areas. In addition, he has extensive experience in rendering legal opinions on patentability, patent infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate. Dr. Mun also regularly advises clients on various issues relating to IP transactions, such as IP due diligence, procurement, contract drafting, and licensing strategy.
Prior to joining Mei & Mark LLP, Dr. Mun headed an IP licensing firm in Virginia, where he led various patent licensing, acquisition, and enforcement projects and managed over several hundreds of patent assets. He also practiced patent law at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Mun received his J.D. degree from George Mason University School of Law and his Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from University of Maryland College Park.
