Law360: Supreme Court Still Not Interested In 1-Line Fed. Circ. Orders

Washington, DC – May 18, 2020 – Law360 reports that “[t]he U.S. Supreme Court on Monday reaffirmed that it’s not interested in challenges to the Federal Circuit’s use of one-line orders, shooting down a pair of petitions submitted by Kaneka Corp. and the inventor of an electronic payment system.” Specifically, the U.S. Supreme Court denied Kaneka Corp.’s petition for a writ of certiorari in Kaneka Corp. v. Xiamen Kingdomway Group Co., No. 19-1228 (S. Ct.). Previously, the Federal Circuit affirmed the district court’s ruling that Xiamen Kingdomway Group Co. and Pacific Rainbow International Inc. do not infringe Kaneka’s asserted patent.

Xiamen Kingdomway Group Co. and Pacific Rainbow International Inc. were represented by Ed Naidich, Lei Mei, Andrew Riley, Larry Sandell, Jeff Pearson, and Manni Li of Mei & Mark LLP.
