Ya-Hsuan (Connie) Chang is the head of Mei & Mark LLP’s Asia Pacific Practice based in China. Ms. Chang has about 20 years of professional experience, both as a practicing lawyer in a US top 100 law firm and chief legal officer in Global 500 companies. Her expertise includes IP litigation, license negotiation, patent monetization and establishment of corporate compliance system. Ms. Chang is especially experienced in dealing with patent, trade secret, corporate compliance, investigations of corruption and export control issues of high-tech semiconductor companies.
Ms. Chang gained abundant of litigation experience while working at the Washington, D.C. and Taipei offices of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP for almost eight years. Prior to joining Mei & Mark LLP, Ms. Chang accumulated substantial amount of practical experience as an in-house attorney in high-tech semiconductor companies, including fabless IC design companies, world’s largest IC service company, TSMC, one and only Chinese DRAM manufacturer, CXMT, and China’s leading semiconductor corporation, Tsinghua Unigroup. Ms. Chang is particularly experienced in patent evaluation, monetization, license negotiation, built-up of corporate legal structure from ground zero, crisis management, identification of corporate legal risks and provision of effective solutions. Ms. Chang also helps high-tech companies to make short-, mid- and long-term strategic goals in accordance with their business developments.
Ms. Chang obtained a J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She was also an assistant professor of National Tsinghua University Technology Law Center, teaching US patent law.
