Happy Holidays: A Year-End Message from Mei & Mark LLP
Washington, DC - December 22, 2011 - Happy Holidays: A Year-End Message from Mei & Mark LLP
Dear Clients, Friends, and Colleagues:
Happy Holidays from all of us at Mei & Mark LLP! Thanks to your support, we have another banner year in 2011. As the leading minority-owned Intellectual Property and Litigation law firm based in Washington, DC, we proudly share with you some of our highlights from 2011:
New Los Angeles Office: We opened a new office in Los Angeles in early 2011, managed by Ms. Manni Li, a veteran IP lawyer.
Litigation: We were involved in five investigations before the International Trade Commission, including one trial in the summer. We also represented clients in four different federal district courts.
Patent Prosecution: We successfully filed one of the first inter partes reexaminations under the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act. Meanwhile, we continue to draft and prosecute patents for large and small clients with an eye toward enforcement.
Pro Bono: We won asylum for a pro bono client from Africa after an evidentiary hearing in the Arlington Immigration Court in June 2011.
Diversity: We continue to be a leader in promoting law firm diversity by attracting attorneys having diverse backgrounds. Our attorneys are African American, Asian American, Caucasian American, and Hispanic/Latino American and about half are women. We also co-sponsored the 2011 APABA-DC Installation Dinner and the diversity/LGBT reception at the 2011 AIPLA Annual Meeting.
We look forward to working with you in 2011. May the New Year bring you happiness and prosperity!
