Mr. Riley focuses his practice on complex disputes before U.S. district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Riley has acted as lead counsel and primary backup counsel in more than 25 inter partes review (IPR) and ex parte reexamination proceedings. In addition, he has experience litigating in the most popular patent venues, including the E.D. Texas, N.D. California, and D. Delaware.
Before joining Mei & Mark LLP, Mr. Riley was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP. Prior to law school, Mr. Riley served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Riley received his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from College of William and Mary and his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.
